Reiki

The Japanese word Reiki means Universal Life Energy – the God Force.  The highest form of Energy known to man is Light.  Reiki is Light Energy.  The earliest recorded history of Reiki dates back to the 1820’s when it was recognized by Dr. Mikao Usui, the principal of a Christian seminary in Kyoto, Japan.

Some commonly asked questions:

What is Reiki?
Reiki is Light Energy that has an innate intelligence.  Reiki assists the body in healing itself by bringing mind, body and spirit into proper alignment.  Through the Reiki process, the cells in the body are actually rejuvenated and renewed to their original form of Light Energy.  Reiki is totally natural and works on all levels of one’s life, anything from broken bones, cancer to colds, to emotional healings by releasing grief, lack of self-confidence, insecurities or fears, and others too numerous to mention.

How is Reiki administered?
The client is generally asked to lie down fully clothed in a quiet, soothing and private environment.  The Reiki Practitioner or Reiki Master places his or her hands on the client in varying positions holding each position for 3 to 5 minutes. 

The practitioner invokes the Reiki Energy through their crown, into their heart and allows it to flow down their arms and out their hands to the client.  The innate intelligence within the client's cells then draws the energy from the practitioner in perfect amounts to the area of the body that needs it most.  The client may experience sensations of heat or energy moving through the body, a decrease of physical or emotional pain, or simply achieve a more relaxed state of being. 

Is Reiki Safe for me? 
Reiki works well alone or with other therapies or healing modalities to get the desired result.  Reiki has an innate intelligence within its life force energy that prevents the practitioner from taking on any karma of the client, as well as protecting the client from receiving any karma or negativity from the Practitioner.  Reiki is safe to use any time, any place, and in any situation.  There is no condition that would not benefit or elevate the client to a more perfect state of being.

Do Reiki Practitioners abide by an ethical code?
While Reiki Practitioners are not physicians, most do abide by the Reiki Precepts, which are as follows:

Just for today, I will let go of anger.
Just for today, I will let go of worry.
Just for today, I will count my many blessings.
Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Just for today, I will be kind to every living creature.

How do I become a Reiki Practitioner?
To become a Reiki Practitioner you must attend a Reiki I training.  This training is a one day event designed to instruct the Student with the proper hand positions, symbols and to receive the attunements necessary to heal themselves and to become an accredited Practitioner.  After completing Reiki I the student is asked to administer Reiki nightly to themselves to open and purify their energy centers (chakras) enabling them to eventually channel higher amounts of this universal healing love energy while simultaneously removing any physical, emotional or spiritual blockages.  Many individuals choose to attend Reiki I only for personal healing, but if desired, may use their status as Reiki Practitioner to charge others for your services.  This can be a stand-alone course. 

Reiki I Training $150.00 
 
In Reiki II you receive the additional symbols and attunements necessary to do long-distance healing using the Reiki Energy.  You must attend a Reiki I course prior to attending Reiki II.  It is strongly suggested that that you have at least 3 to 4 months between the Reiki I and Reiki II training and at least 5 to 6 months between Reiki II and Reiki III (Reiki Master Level).  

Reiki II Training  $350.00 
 
The Reiki Master Level, also known as Reiki III, the student receives the final and fourth symbol and attunement that increases their capacity to receive the Reiki Energy and the status of Reiki Master.  Once you have received the attunement of Reiki Master, you are able to teach and attune others with the healing gift of Reiki.
